How Licensing Works
Most of our trading robots and indicators are protected by a licence system. This page explains what that means for you, how to get set up, and what happens if your access ever changes.
Manage Your Licences Instantly Online
Premium Patreon members can now manage their own licence slots directly — no need to message us. Simply sign in with your Patreon account at the portal, and you'll get 5 licence slots where you can add, update, or remove your MetaTrader 5 account numbers at any time. Access is automatically verified against your active Premium membership.
How it works: Visit the portal → click "Connect with Patreon" → click "Allow" on the Patreon authorisation screen → you'll see your 5 licence slots where you can add or manage your MT5 account numbers. Your membership status is verified automatically.

Why We Do This
Every product we release represents months of development, testing, and live validation. A licence system lets us control who can run our software, which in turn lets us keep offering free access to Premium members rather than charging everyone upfront. It's the mechanism that makes the whole Premium membership model possible.
Two Ways to Get a Licence
Premium Patreon Membership
If you're a Premium member, you get access to the majority of our products as part of your membership — no separate purchase needed. Your licence stays active for as long as your membership is active.
Direct Purchase
If you buy a product outright, that licence is permanent. Once your account number is registered against a purchased product, it is never revoked — even if you later cancel any Patreon membership, that specific product keeps working.
How a Licence is Linked to Your Account
Every licence is tied to your MetaTrader account number, not to you personally or to a username. When you get access — whether through Premium membership or a purchase — you need to send us that account number so we can register it on our licence server. Each time the robot starts up, it checks in with our server and confirms that your account number is approved for that specific product.
This means:
- The robot will only run on the MetaTrader account number you've registered with us.
- If you trade the same product from a different account, or switch broker accounts, that new number needs registering too — it won't just work automatically.
Setting up MetaTrader to Allow the Licence Check
MetaTrader blocks outbound connections by default, so there's a one-time setting to enable before any of our licensed products will run:
- 1.Open MetaTrader 5.
- 2.Go to Tools → Options.
- 3.Click the Expert Advisors tab.
- 4.Tick Allow WebRequest for listed URL.
- 5.Click the green + and add: https://licence.mralanforex.com
- 6.Click OK.
This only needs to be done once per terminal — every licensed product you run afterwards will use the same setting.
Registering or Changing Your Account Number
Premium Patreon Members — Self-Service
Use the Licence Portal to add, update, or remove your MetaTrader 5 account numbers instantly. You have 5 slots available and can change them at any time while your membership is active.
Direct Purchase Customers — Manual Registration
If you've purchased a product directly, your licence still needs to be registered manually. Send us a private message in the Patreon chat with your MetaTrader 5 account number and the product name, and we'll get you set up.
What Happens if Your Membership Lapses
If you're using a product through Premium membership and your membership ends, that licence is removed from the server. The robot will detect this the next time it checks in and will stop trading until access is restored — either by reactivating your membership or purchasing the product outright.
Products you've purchased directly are unaffected by this — those licences are permanent regardless of your membership status.
